This lovely Gandhara sculpture, acquired by the
Buddha Tooth Relic Museum in Singapore at a 2015
auction, shows what unfolds from the time of Siddhartha Gautama's enlightenment under the Bodhi tree (at right) to delivering his first sermon (at left). In the middle we see the now Buddha gazing in unblinking gratitude at the Bodhi tree - how he apparently
spent the second week after his blissful breakthrough.
