I didn't come to France for gourmandise but somehow I found myself at rather a nice restaurant in a vaulted basement in Dijon, where what had looked like a simple appetizer of crudités came out looking like this! Not just a playful explosion channeling Kandinsky and Mirò it was all seasonal - root veggies, fennel and radishes, prepared to offer plenty of surprises. Too beautiful to eat, I thought ... until I tried some ... !
