New views

 

So I've arrived in my new digs, the rather swanky apartment of fellow scholars of religion! Their apartment is on the fifth floor of one of many 10- to 12-storey towers (theirs is #16) in a settlement called Culture Garden 文化花园, and enjoys a view of trees and the remains of a canal.

Views within the apartment are nice too, like this case crammed with books I should read about religion in contemporary China! And in effort to keep jetlag at bay I've already started hydrating myself the Chinese way, letting these tea leaves unfold over many a refill of hot water.
