Beijing for boys III

 

We went outside Beijing today on what turned out to be a perfect day for it - heavy rain overnight had scrubbed the air clean, making for great visibility. Our destination was the 慕田峪 Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, and what a destination it is! The steep mountainside was dotted with blooming cherry trees, the gentle snow of whose petals was joined by a few big-blooming snowflakes. Otherworldly, hyperreal!
