Just found online the image of a lovely work of contemporary Aboriginal art I had the good fortune to see in an exhibit connected to the just-ended Melbourne Fringe Festival (at a gallery called Indigenart): Nancy McDinny's "Dugong and Turtle Hunting." The canvas is quite large and as you swim around in it, fishing boats are as easy (or hard) to make out as turtles or dugong (relatives of the manatee)!Unsurprisingly, the painting's been snatched up by the Australian National Maritime Museum.
