For the India China Institute project, a dozen of us - from India, Nepal, Tibet and the US - are on retreat in rather a posh place. It's a short walk from Long Island Sound in Glen Cove, a reminder of Gatsbyan days.
I'm not sure what impression this is making on our visitors! For my part I was interested to learn why such manorial estates are not more common (though I suppose new ones have cropped up in this second gilded age).
