In class Thursday we looked a little at this image, too, also in New York - well, at the Brooklyn Museum: Alfred Bierstadt's Storm over the Rocky Mountains, Mt, Rosalie. I told the class it was far grander in reality than any projected image could be, and that there was another reason to see it in situ: in the same room is a new work taking apart its grandeur.
