If last Monday's event critical of engaged scholarship felt a little un-New School, tonight's book launch for Eyal Weizman's Ungrounding, hosted by our Vera List Center for Art and Politics, was a tonic. Not the content, a meticulous and devastating forensic indictment of the Israeli's state's efforts to uproot Palestinian life in the Gaza Strip. But the energy and resolve in a packed Wollman Hall. Research and critical analysis can make a difference in a world of injustices, and should be supported.
