One Nebraskan president-emeritus of The New School has been promoting the memory of another. The New School's first president Alvin Johnson has been inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame, and a short television profile has recently been produced. It's interesting enough ("Nebraska's Schindler" has always "a farmer at heart"!), but what really excites me is footage from an old film I've never seen which includes not only a view down 12th Street with the Sixth Avenue L but Johnson and the University in Exile crew in discussion in the Benton Room!!
