The storm which barreled through today, post-tropical cyclone Isaias, was fierce, even though most of it passed to the west of us. We could see bits of debris flying around even from our 19th floor perch but the real damage was on the ground, where trees were splintered and toppled. This is the scene by the entrance to our building, with several trees uprooted, others denuded of most of their branches. A sorry sight.
