400e anniversaire!
Four hundred years today, the city of Québec was founded. Felicitations! Here are a few pictures from a trip I took there in March 2005 (still wintry) - an old view, at the trippy Maison de l'Amérique Française (a parallel universe to the noisy Anglo North America which actually happened); statues in front of parliament; a scene straight out of the 18th century in the old city; and some of a gorgeous set of murals I found under a highway overpass, some compensation for all the old churches which had been converted into performance spaces, libraries and condos.
